Need help diagnosing RX. Not getting audio

Postby n5wss » Thu May 09, 2013 4:50 pm

Just got RX portion done last night. Got all drivers loaded and I am unable to get sound to or from the unit. I have both Peaberry Audio and Peaberry Radio in Device Manager on Windows 7 "This device is working properly." I searched the forum and tried everything I could to get it working. Any help is appreciated.

When I launch Config SoftRock > Calibrate > Calibrate A > "Calibrate" I get error message "Xtal 0.000000 not in range (low=112, high=117MHz) Try to factory default the device!"

Sounds like you have a soldering error on the I2C bus (pins SCL and SDA).

Thanks for the quick response. I'll try cleaning them up and re-soldering them again.
By the way should I expect the SoftRock Configuration tool to show the version number of the firmware? (Mine shows 0.0 but may be due to the issue you already pointed out.)

The firmware version is set at 0.0, so that's normal.

What is the voltage on R48 and R49?

The I2C bus is an open-drain design. R48 and R49 are its pullup resistors. Something has both lines shorted to ground.
