That's weird. It definitely says it's off and the slider won't go any farther to the left. If I run a long string of dits at 27wpm, it will do 15 or so OK, then start erratic long ones, then go back to 15 or so good dits, and then back to erratic long ones. It reminds me of two close frequencies beating together.

Tried it on my 6 core desktop ... works OK. My Lenovo T60 laptop has issues even though CPU usage is way below 100%. Does the program make very heavy use of some resource, like USB?

PROBLEM RESOLVED!!!!!

Turns out it's the crappy Intel USB drivers on the Lenovo motherboard (and yes, they are supposed to be USB 2.0). I put in a cardbus USB 2.0 plugin (NEC chip and drivers) and it works great. :D
