Software for Peaberry

Postby KC8UD » Thu Apr 24, 2014 5:18 pm

It might be helpful to create a list of software choices that others have had success with in use with the Peaberry. We know about HDSDR. There are several others. In particular I'm wondering if anyone has tried GSDR and if it might even be a candidate for the Peaberry. http://genesisradio.com.au/GSDR/
Any thoughts?

I tried to get it working and failed. Also this company just went broke so no support other than the user community.

This is the first I heard about Genesis Radio going tits up. Look like internal problems:

Actually, I think while the Genesis group blew up they are perhaps restructuring. I know that they had a SDR in the works that was dubbed 'G6' and it hasn't materialized... however as word went around in their circle a renewed interest came about and they are on to making more G59 kits available. They call it a "G59 revival".

I only follow them loosely so perhaps I have the details all wrong. Seems like they are not dead, at the moment anyway.

FWIW I've got my PB v2 working using GSDR software and can provide screenshots of setup. I'm surfing forum topics for better software for cw as the infamous "dropping of the first dit" flaw in PowerSDR has carried over in the GSDR modification. Haven't tried it for SSB as only interested in cw qrp. If anyone knows the "best" software for using a PB for cw please holler my direction. Bob W9BF

I just cam across this today at http://fyngyrz.com/?p=915
It's called SDRdx. It claims to work with the Peaberry. Has anyone tried this?

Hi,

Well it is closed source. I've had my fill of closed source applications. I really don't care if a given application is better than sliced bread, if I can't modify it, I'm not going near it. HDSDR is the only closed source application I will use UNTIL I'm fully moved over to Linux and will then use Quisk.
