Peaberry Audio ports into other programs?

Postby mrwizardly » Thu Feb 05, 2015 4:59 am

How does the audio from the Peaberry V2 get switched into some of the other programs what would most likely be used with it? I.E. JT65-HF?
I've tried all sorts of Sound options and so far I have not stumbled upon the combination that routes the Peaberry sound into any of these digital decoder programs.
Anyone else have this issue?

Hi,
The "RX Output (to speaker)" and "TX Input (from Microphone)" need to be routed to the input and output of the digital application. There are two basis methods to accomplish this. One is to install virtual audio ports (VAC http://software.muzychenko.net/eng/vac.htm or VB-Audio http://vb-audio.pagesperso-orange.fr/Cable/index.htm ). A second method is to install two USB Audio adapters and wire them back to back. Either way you do it, HDSDR is configured to use one side of the audio circuit and the digital application is configured to use the other side.

A third options is to use a digital application that will handle the I/Q audio data directly. The only one that comes to my mind is WSPR (http://physics.princeton.edu/pulsar/K1JT/wsjtx.html). There are probably more. But since I have been using two audio adapters wired back to back, I have not really looked into applications that directly handle I/Q directly.

WIN 7/8 did not give you Stereo Mix for free. Apparently it's Windoz method of keeping you from making illegal copies of internet music or etc.
I loaded Stereo Mix from http://www.realtek.com and things are working as they should now across the software platforms using the Stereo Mix feature. It acts like an internal patch.
You can search Google for "Stereo Mix" and you'll find all kinds of descriptions on how to install it and make HDSDR accessible from all kinds of Digital decoders.
Thanks for all the input.
I'm picking up all kinds of DX that doesn't show up on the waterfall with JT65.
