A better way to wind transformers?

Building my third V2, I came up with a silly idea. Some transformers ask for X turns of bifilar and 2X turns of single wire. Why not go for a quatro-filar winding and connect two of the windings in series?
I took four pieces of magnet wire, turned all of them at about 3 turns per inch and wound the transformers to the required X number of turns. I then separated the windings, identified them, connect two of them in series to act as the single winding, and the other two as the prescribed bifilar windings. It is definitively easier to build and, it could be my idea, but the performance seems better.
