TXing in a wrong band

Postby alex sv8qg » Fri Nov 23, 2012 6:06 pm

After 2 minutes of TX in a wrong band (15 m band 21.0946 Mhz WSPR one TX cycle in full power) the receiver is deaf
(sensitivity -20 db down). I need help to diagnose the problem.
I use The Prebery SDR with WSPR 0n 20m with exelent results.

The LPF (L1,L2,C5,C6,C7) may be damaged. This is where all the power from your bad transmission went. Pull the capacitors and bypass the inductors. If this restores sensitivity, you've found the problem.

Another possibility is that you toasted Q7/Q8. Disconnect their drains or pull them entirely and test the receiver.
