Well I feel silly.
R48 = 3.28v
R49 = 3.28v

Not really sure where to go from here. I've reworked all my soldering points very carefully and I still can't get audio to or from the peaberry and still getting error message when SoftRock Config loads. It appears to respond when I "tune" it and I get data from "test".

What error? What data from test? Were you able to play music through the speaker? Are you sure all component values are correct? Please provide as much information as accurately as you can.

What error?
The error message I get is the following:
Xtal 0.000000 not in range (low=112, high=117MHz)
Try to factory default the device!

What data from test?
From the SoftRock Config software the tab labeled "test" I added a picture of it on the drop box link.

Were you able to play music through the speaker?
The PC shows that audio is "playing" to "Peaberry Audio" but I do NOT hear anything from the speaker.

Are you sure all component values are correct?
Yes I believe that they are. A point of some concern was about the proper orientation of U5.

Please provide as much information as accurately as you can.

Everything points to the I2C bus. You probably soldered the SCL and SDA pins to the case of the Si570.

Ah so I guess that can happen on the "underside". Do you have any tips for desoldering the Si570?

Look at this step in the V2 manual before you remove parts.

I use a hot air tool for rework. TIP: someone at your local hacker space or ham club has one too.

Thanks for the tips. I figure out how to get it off. I removed it cleaned it all up and re-soldered it back in place. Connected it back to the PC and still get same error "Xtal 0.000000 not in range (low=112, high=117MHz)
Try to factory default the device!" from Config SoftRock.

Are you absolutely sure you didn't solder the those extra pins on the side of the Si570? Try measuring the voltage on the I2C bus again. Looking at your schematic it seems you were measuring the power supply bus.

The problem is definitely on the I2C bus which is only two wires. Maybe get another set of eyeballs on it. A cheap DSO is sufficient to debug this bus.

Thanks for the continued support. I am as sure as I can be about not soldering the extra pins. "DSO" is Digital Storage Oscilloscope?
